4. Cookies
To make your visit to our website attractive and to enable the use of certain functions, we use so-called cookies on various pages – small text files that are stored on your device. Some of the cookies we use are deleted after the end of the browser session (session cookies). Others remain on your device and enable us or our partner companies to recognise your browser on your next visit (persistent cookies).
If cookies are set, they collect and process specific user information to an individual extent, such as browser and location data as well as IP address values. Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified duration, which may vary depending on the cookie.
We process technically necessary cookies on the basis of our legitimate interest in a functional website (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR). Where cookies are used for audience measurement or integrate third-party content, they are only used with your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR in conjunction with Section 25 para. 1 TDDDG), which you can revoke at any time with effect for the future.
You can configure your browser to notify you about the placement of cookies, to allow cookies only on a case-by-case basis, to exclude the acceptance of cookies for specific cases or in general, and to activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are not accepted, the functionality of our website may be restricted.
5. Server log files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
- Browser type and version
- operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Hostname of the accessing computer
- Date and time of the server request
- Volume of data sent in bytes
- Your IP address (in anonymised form, if applicable)
These data cannot be attributed to specific individuals; they are not merged with other data sources. Processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in the stability and functionality of our website. We reserve the right to check these data retrospectively if concrete indications of unlawful use come to our attention.
6. Getting in touch & contact form
Contact form
If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact data you provided there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent. This data is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR); you can revoke this at any time with effect for the future. An informal notification by email is sufficient for this purpose. The data you have entered will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, revoke your consent for storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies. Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
Uploaded files (e.g. technical drawings)
Our contact form gives you the opportunity to upload files such as technical drawings or specifications. We process the files submitted by you and the information contained therein exclusively for the purpose of processing your enquiry and preparing any potential quotation. The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of pre-contractual measures) as well as your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). The files are only passed on to the internal departments dealing with the processing and are deleted once the purpose ceases to apply or at your request, provided there are no statutory retention periods to the contrary.
Enquiry by email or telephone
If you contact us by email or telephone, your request, including all resulting personal data (name, request), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your concern. This processing is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) GDPR if your request is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures; in all other cases, it is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) and/or our legitimate interest in the effective handling of enquiries addressed to us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
7. Applications & application form
We offer you the opportunity to apply to us (e.g. via our online application form, by email or by post). Below we inform you about the scope, purpose and use of your personal data collected as part of the application process. The collection, processing and use of your data takes place in accordance with applicable data protection law; your data will be treated with strict confidentiality.
Scope and purpose of data collection
If you submit an application to us, we process your associated personal data (e.g. contact and communication data, application documents, notes taken during interviews) to the extent necessary to decide on the establishment of an employment relationship. The legal basis is Section 26 of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) (initiation of an employment relationship), Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR and – provided you have given your consent – Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. Consent may be revoked at any time. Within our company, your data will only be disclosed to persons involved in the processing of your application.
Online application form & uploaded documents
You can use our application form to upload application documents (e.g. cover letter, CV, references) as a file. We process the transmitted documents and information exclusively for the purpose of carrying out the application process. Transmission is encrypted. The uploaded documents will only be made accessible to the departments involved in the application process (HR department and the respective specialist department).
Data retention period
If we are unable to offer you a position, you decline a job offer, withdraw your application, revoke your consent or request that we delete your data, the submitted data including any physical documents will be stored for a maximum of 6 months after the completion of the application procedure (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) in order to be able to trace the process in the event of discrepancies.
You may object to this storage, provided that you have legitimate grounds that override our interests.
Provided you have consented to further storage, we will transfer your data to our applicant pool, where the data will be deleted after a period of two years. If you are offered a position, the data will be transferred to our HR information system.
8. Data processing for order fulfilment
To process your order, we work with service providers who assist us wholly or in part in the execution of concluded contracts. If you commission us to provide a service or send goods, your personal data will only be used without separate consent to the extent necessary for the provision of the service or the execution of the contract. This includes, in particular, the passing on of your data to transport companies, credit institutions or other service providers employed for contract processing. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.
We disclose personal data about customers if we are legally obliged to do so or if such disclosure is necessary to enforce our terms and conditions or other agreements or to protect our rights as well as the rights of third parties.
9. SalesViewer® Technology
On this website, data for marketing, market research and optimisation purposes is collected and stored using SalesViewer® technology from SalesViewer® GmbH on the basis of the website operator's legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). For this purpose, JavaScript-based code is used to collect company-related data and corresponding usage. The data collected is encrypted using a non-reversible one-way function (known as hashing), immediately pseudonymised and is not used to personally identify visitors to this website.
Data collection and storage may be objected to at any time with effect for the future. To do this, please click on https://www.salesviewer.com/opt-out to prevent collection by SalesViewer® within this website in future. This will place an opt-out cookie on your device. On our website, we use Google Maps to display interactive maps and to show our location. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland. When visiting subpages in which a map is integrated, information about your use (including your IP address) is transmitted to Google servers and stored there; this may also involve a transmission to servers in the USA. The use is in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offering and to make it easy to find the locations indicated by us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), insofar as this has been requested.
For further information, please refer to Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
11. Google reCAPTCHA
To protect our forms against abusive automated use and spam, we may use the reCAPTCHA function provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland. This function serves to distinguish whether an input is made by a human or improperly by automated processing. In the process, the IP address and, if applicable, other data required by Google are transmitted to Google. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and spam (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Further information: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
12. Content Delivery Network (CDN)
A Content Delivery Network (CDN) can be used for the quick and reliable delivery of technical libraries. This is done in the interest of providing an optimised and secure presentation of our online offering (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Social media presence
We maintain publicly accessible profiles in social networks in order to communicate with users active there and to provide information about our company. When you visit our profiles, the respective operators may process your user behaviour. The legal basis for our social media presence is our legitimate interest in effective public relations (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). 14. SSL encryption
This site uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as enquiries you send to us. The use of contact details published in the context of the imprint obligation for sending unsolicited advertising and information material is hereby objected to. The operators of the pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited advertising information being sent, such as through spam emails.
17. Period of storage of personal data
The period for which personal data is stored is determined by the relevant statutory retention period (e.g. commercial and tax law retention periods). Once the period has expired, the corresponding data is routinely deleted, provided it is no longer required for the fulfilment or initiation of a contract and/or there is no longer any legitimate interest on our part in continued storage. Your personal data is processed exclusively in data centres in the Federal Republic of Germany.
18. Whistleblowing system
As part of our whistleblowing system, we process details concerning the accused person, information regarding (alleged) regulatory breaches, and the corresponding factual circumstances. Personal data of the whistle-blower is generally only processed with their consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). In other cases, processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR in order to safeguard the overriding legitimate interest in the prevention and combating of corruption. Personal data is retained for the period necessary for the investigation and final assessment of the report and is subsequently deleted in accordance with statutory requirements.
