The measurement of workpieces is important for both manufacturing and quality control:
In order to mass-produce prototypes or replace spare parts with an exact fit, they must first be measured as accurately as possible. This is the prerequisite for highest quality in manufacturing and best functionality of the parts in the microstructure with other components. The stored measured values can be applied directly during turning, milling, drilling or other machining processes.
Finished workpieces are also precisely measured and thus the exact shape of the product is precisely controlled. Even tiny invisible breaks can be detected in this way.
3D measuring systems capture even the most complex workpieces extremely precisely either tactilely or optically, including free-form surfaces, distances, angles, bore diameters, lands and grooves. The optical methods are particularly suitable for delicate workpieces made of soft material, as they do not damage the surfaces. Internal dimensions can also be determined without destroying the workpiece.
